We're Going on a Treasure Hunt! X-marks the spot!

Today we went X-plor-ing! ...but more on that in a sec. :)

Really, today was fairly slow. We are FINALLY out of the hotel! Kiko is happy, but I'm undecided. Normally, this would be a good thing...but we still do NOT have furniture. :/ Which means, we have NO BEDS.

To semi-solve this problem: we took a field trip to Walmart (which is like the center point of AR apparently). We grabbed sleeping bags, food for the next 3 meals (since we still don't have a fridge), a trashcan, random other little things, and we argued over future paint colors for my room. X) (My mom was very happy that this was STILL less than another night at the hotel...less happy after trying to take a nap on the flimsy sleeping bag.)

Otherwise, it was a cleaning the new home kinda day. Plus, I worked on my homemade planner (which I apparently COMPLETELY messed up the other day :/ every day was off by one for TWO WHOLE MONTHS ><''' ...thank goodness for whiteout ;) ).

Now: for the exploring :P Supposedly, we have a trail in our subdivision (as well as a pool, though that is currently MIA). We thought this one place was the entrance, so I wanted to go check it out. Mum and the pup tagged along and it actually looked really nice...until at the top we realized it was actually just somebody's backyard O.o Yup, you heard me: the mini-trail was someone's PRIVATE trail. ...Needless to say, I freaked out and we rushed back down. :P That's all we need: getting arrested or meeting up with an Arkansonian  with a shotgun! Anyway, here are the pictures of our little adventure of the afternoon!

Since we're out of the hotel, I'm actually updating from Hastings. I'm so glad they have one here! (But I have yet to see if their hot chocolate is as good, so that will be my next quest!)

Much love,

Learning to at least NOT hate

Unlike yesterday, I found that I don't COMPLETELY hate our house. I still hardly love it, but now I can dream of what it COULD be. I had originally chosen the smaller guest bedroom as my future room (mostly because of the walk-in closet and more workable layout) but, in the end, I could not turn down the extra space. :( SO, instead I shall take the larger bedroom with the creepiest huge window I have ever seen with many promises of getting proper blinds :P (I swear I can see my neighbors out of it!!!).

But like I said before I left, I gots plans >=D. I cannot WAIT til I start decorating it! I'm semi-worried about the money because obviously I don't want to cause my parents to overspend (which with the new house is a fairly prevalent worry nowadays). In the future (ie when our TX house isn't just a money pit), we have even bigger plans X).

For example, my dad wants to put some trees in. (Which now has become my solution for everything! "That spot looks ugly." "Put a tree there." :P) Also, there's this part of our backyard which is kind of to the side of the house which I would just LOVE to separate with a fence and make into a garden! The area has double doors for an entrance, so wouldn't it just be lovely to open the up and be faced with a little pathway with that curved little entrance and vegetables growing on either side of the path? <3 Ahhhhh the dream :P

Speaking of dreams, our house isn't the only thing we wanna change! I actually would like to do more of a healthy life style change. My dad did (he's sooooo skinny now D:) and while his way is too extreme (ie oatmeal for breakfast skip lunch then eggs with beans for dinner before 8 pm bedtime ><') I would like to take some of his steps. :D For example, NO TV! I realized that when I turned on the tv those last few days at home, I did little else that day. :/ Now, I've been getting SO much reading done! Plus, I actually WANT to read it (unlike when tv was an option). Plus, I wanna start exercising cuz I am OUT OF SHAPE ^^'''. So we'll see. :) Our stuff still isn't here yet though. :/ I'll wait til then :P.

Here are the pictures! The house is (obviously) still empty.

I'd like to say I am dissappointed but...

I have to say, I've been striking out all day! (Take this as a warning that I am about to vent.)

First off, I woke up at 6:30 am. Why? Because my mom told me too, which means Animal Cracker's (who has been so kind to let me stay at her house the last two nights when I didn't have a bed of my own <3 (I love you!!!)) mom made us get up that early. Now, this would be fine...save the fact that my mom didn't pick me up til 8:30 :/. Fun.....

But then we were off!!! .....Ha ha ha, you actually believe it was that easy? No, we were supposed to be off, but mom stopped for coffee...which took 30 minutes to get. How you ask? I don't know either. .-.

Then we were REALLY off! Actually, the trip wasn't bad itself, per se. Kiko didn't do much barking after the beginning. (I guess too hot/too depressed/maybe he was getting carsick?) Sleeping wasn't much of an option this time. (I was sitting the passenger's seat with no ability to recline.) That doesn't mean I didn't manage to anyway ;). Basically, I was the map girl (na na na na na na na na MAP GIRL) and worked on my homemade planner (which I kind of messed up several times, no biggie).

Eventually, we were here! AR-KANSAS. Kiko loves it! All the trees and all I guess. As we were driving to the house, we saw horses in someone's FRONT yard (and people ask TEXANS if we ride horses to school).

Things went downhill from there. When I saw the video of our new house (after we were already buying it) I knew I would hate it. Sure enough, I DID! *gasp* No but really. The largest room (supposedly mine) is the only one without the walk-in closet AND I probably STILL won't be able to fit both my bed and dresser in it. Plus, the huge window covers most of a wall and you can totally see into it from the neighbor's house O.o (awkwwwarrrddd). So yea, sad days. I'll have to figure it out.

Plus, by then I was majorly carsick and just wanted to get some air conditioning! Seriously, that and some ice cold water. (Is that too much to ask for? D:) But first was food. Which, even though we right away said to get the yummy Mexican place we had last time, was turned into a HUGE effort. Eventually, we did just get the Mexican. ...But after waiting half an hour while they freshly made it, we realized they had gotten my order wrong. :(

Now, it's time to chill. I'm so tired! (Even though I just spent all day in a car.)

So It Begins

Well, I've officially boarded the tornado and flew far away from Kansas. I'd like to say the trip was interesting, but 9 hours in a car is hardly so. Even Kiko was depressed most of the way (but I think that's just the effect OK has on one's soul...). Overall though, we made great time. Too great actually; I now owe my mom a coffee because we made it by 6:30.

But more on all that stuff later. Really, I'm just here to introduce you to my blog! Since everyone wants me to keep you posted, what better way to do it then on your own time. :) So here's skylight, a window on your computer screen that shows you my world out here.

I miss y'all already.
